Nutrient Management Planning

A whole-farm Nutrient Management Plan (NMP) comprises advanced soil testing and analyses to determine optimal crop nutrient requirements, increasing crop yield. Our NMP contributes towards sugar cane Best-Management-Practice Accreditation and will increase nutrient use efficiency by comparing fertiliser inputs and crop sugar yield.

Farming sugarcane in the Eastern-Queensland wet tropics carries an accountability to reduce fertiliser runoff from our cane fields to the Great Barrier Reef, improving downstream water quality and showcasing our industry’s environmental stewardship.

Don Pollock, TropCrop CEO, held a leadership position in the team for the Wet Tropics Sugar Industry (WTSIP) Partnership. Don contributed to the initial design and implementation of the WTSIP Nutrient Management Plan and has extensive experience and expertise in this field.

TropCrop ™ will assist sugarcane producers with all their whole-farm Nutrient Management planning needs. Don is a highly regarded Nutrient Advantage Advisor (NAA) and Fertcare ™ accredited agronomist who has performed thousands of soil analyses in the wet tropics. TropCrop ™ has vast experience in studying tropical soil science including soil profiling and sampling, as well as the interpretation of test results to optimise plant growth.
